GAN Research and Learning Resource Centre

is an innovative not for profit distribution social enterprise – A sister entity of #Global Action Nepal (GAN)
The Centre was established at a challenging time in Nepal when about a third of the national population was affected by the 2015 earthquakes and beginning of the era of sustainable development goals as outlined by the United Nations.

However, initially, it has started its journey by engaging itself in disaster relief response particularly in rural local communities; it then broadened its arena and redefined itself as a resourceful sustainable mechanism as a learning laboratory and resource hub for all imagining future scenarios directly linked with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The canter focus on Generating funds, Intergenerational learning, promotes indigenous knowledge, work for skills and innovative technologies, the building of global citizens and valuing lifelong and life wide learning for the 21st century.

Objectives:

  1. To conduct studies and research on issues related to education, health, the environment, and human rights.
  2. To establish resource centers and conduct training programs aimed at increasing access to equitable education and healthcare, promoting lifelong learning, and fostering global citizenship.
  3. To mobilize national and international volunteers and youth for the improvement of education, health, and environmental conditions.
  4.  To work towards the promotion and preservation of culture, values, and natural heritage.
  5. To promote technical, vocational, and skill-based education through both formal and non-formal approaches, fostering self-reliance.
  6. To carry out income-generating activities for the sustainable development of the organization.
  7. To advocate for the protection of human rights and the equitable development of people across different classes and communities.
  8.  To advocate for and prepare capable citizens for nation-building through educational, social, economic, and psychological development, including personality growth .by organizing seminars, conferences, training sessions, and public gatherings.
  9. To provide vocational and scientific education to children from rural and marginalized regions, instilling a spirit of self-reliance.
  10. To promote the belief that “education is the light of knowledge,” and to support and advocate for raising educational awareness for national development.
  11.  To ensure access to and the development of quality education for children from marginalized communities, in line with the ‘Education for All’ campaign.
  12. To promote education that cultivates competent, productive, and informed citizens through standardized teaching and learning processes
