GAN Learning Centre
(A Residential/Non-Residential Training Centre for Trainings, Workshops, Conferences, Meetings and Seminars)
Gan Learning Centre is a well-equipped training facility located in Chunnikhel, Lalitpur, approximately 5 km from Ekantakuna Ring Road. Designed to cater to a wide range of events, the Centre offers multiple training venues suitable for official meetings, workshops, seminars, training, and conferences.
Situated close to the historic town of Bungamati—a culturally rich Newar settlement in Lalitpur Metropolitan City, within the Kathmandu Valley—the Centre benefits from a peaceful setting with a strong sense of local heritage. Bungamati is perched on a scenic spur of land overlooking the Bagmati River, and is renowned for its traditional Newar architecture and exquisite woodcarving craftsmanship.
With its tranquil environment and proximity to cultural landmarks, GAN Learning Centre provides an ideal venue for training, retreats, workshops, conference and community-focused events, combining functionality with inspiration.
Accommodation
The Centre includes the Nanda-Devi House, which provides both day-board and residential accommodation options. With 14 rooms featuring attached bathrooms, it can comfortably host up to 34–36 people. For larger groups or those seeking alternative arrangements, tents or nearby family houses/guesthouses can be arranged upon request, depending on guests’ interest and availability.
Training Venue
The Centre features two IT-equipped halls, which can be configured to suit various event needs. These halls can accommodate approximately 80 people in a theatre-style setup, or 40–60 people in U-shape or small group formats. In addition, there are smaller halls available for breakout sessions, group meetings, workshops, and trainings.
Both the training venues and the accommodation facilities at the GAN Learning Centre can be rented by organizations or individuals for a variety of purposes, offering a flexible and resourceful space in a peaceful setting.
The GAN Learning Centre has proudly hosted a wide range of national and international individuals and organizations, creating a vibrant space for learning, exchange, and collaboration. Community based Learning hub
The Centre also functions as a facilitating umbrella organization for several Community Learning Centres (CLCs) established in rural areas to promote adult and lifelong learning.
In addition to formal training, the Centre is connected to community-based outreach skill hubs that offer hands-on learning experiences in traditional and practical skills such as wood carving, arts and crafts, Thangka painting, pottery, agriculture, livestock management, and brick making. These hubs serve as valuable platforms for skills-based learning and are open to both national and international visitors seeking immersive, culturally grounded educational experiences.
These engagements reflect the Centre’s growing reputation as a hub for capacity building, Language and cross-cultural learning, and community empowerment.
